Who is this for?

The structured network engineer programme is designed for new or existing engineers who work within the data and telecoms industry. The programme covers all of the key elements that will make the individual highly skilled and knowledgeable in all areas of their structured cabling and information technology.

Typical Job Roles: Copper cable installer, fibre installer, structured network engineer

Completion of the Level 3 Diploma allows engineers to apply for an ECS Advanced Datacomms Specialist card

Who can do this course?

Age limit – This programme is open to anyone over 16. There is no age restriction.

Engineers do not need any previous experience.

Engineers must be:

  • Employed for at least 30 hours per week
  • Have a contract of employment
  • Be paid at least the minimum wage
  • Not personally contribute to the cost of the programme
  • Have the right to work in the UK

Summative Portfolio

This programme is completed once all evidence has been uploaded to the learner’s portfolio and has been assessed and signed off by the internal verifier.

 

Functional Skills
As this is a funded apprenticeship programme if engineers to do not hold a GCSE grade C or above in Maths they must complete Functional Skills Maths Level 2 and if they do not hold a GCSE grade C or above in English they must complete Functional Skills English Level 2
