What do structured cable engineers need to do?

Engineers will need to build an online portfolio of evidence. The evidence is gathered both in the workplace and also by answering online questions and completing worksheets. Workplace evidence requirements are listed in the portfolio.

What does the qualification cover?

The qualification covers the knowledge and competence needed to operate as a data or fibre cabling engineer. It is made up of mandatory units and a selection of optional units that engineers can choose from depending on their job role.

WHICH CSCS CARD CAN I GET?

You will be eligible for the ECS (CSCS) Advanced Datacomms Specialist Gold Card .

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

£750 + VAT or you can spread the cost by paying monthly. You will pay £125 + VAT for 6 months.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

This is entirely down to you. The faster you can build your portfolio the sooner you can get accredited. It should take no more than 6 months but can be completed in just a few weeks.

HOW DO I COLLECT EVIDENCE?

Full instructions are on your portfolio. You will need to answer questions and then collect evidence in the workplace. Evidence is a mixture of documents, video or voice files.

IS THERE ANY SUPPORT?

Yes. Our assessors are available to guide you through the qualification. You can contact them by email or phone and they will answer any questions that you might have?

IS THIS JUST FOR FIBRE ENGINEERS?

No. We have a pathway for engineers that just work with copper installations.

WHEN CAN I START?

Right now. Once we have received your online payment we will issue you log in details. You will get these within 24 hours of payment being received.

CAN I CANCEL?

Sure. Sometimes engineers find they are too busy or just won’t be able to collect the evidence. If you let us know within 7 days of getting your log in details we will issue a full refund.
